Tickle Paw Tuesday: Simon’s Cat Conquers the Christmas Tree

We know that the holiday tradition in this week’s installment of “Tickle Paw Tuesday” will be played out many times over as our favorite felines pounce upon your decorated trees and conquer them in only the way they do. Of course, after all that conquering and destruction, it will be time to  feed the cat.

Thankfully, we’ve never had a problem with Winni and holiday decorations. She does love to wrap herself up in some garland.

What about you? Has your cat decided the tree makes a nice nesting spot or play toy?

If your cat is enjoying the tree too much, a few good sprays of “Bitter Apple” on the trunk of the tree should help. Packaging tape wrapped around the trunk (with the sticky side out) is also a pretty good deterrent for the curious kitty. Got a tip that works for you?

Happy decorating!

Tickle Paw Tuesday: Husky Dog Croons With Baby

Tuesday has to be the loneliest day of the week. Monday is hated, Wednesday is celebrated, and Thursday is undoubtedly the most productive day of the week as people prepare for  Friday. Friday, the most beloved, is the kick off to the weekend. Saturday and Sunday are the peaks of the weekend mountain we must slide down so that we may start the process all over again.

For sad Tuesday, we will begin a new series – Tickle Paw Tuesday. Every Tuesday, we’ll feature an entertaining “Paw Tickler” video we’ve found on the web and share it with you. Take back Tuesday, and make it a day of smiles and share the love.

We’ll start this one off with a funny video featuring a dog and child duo. Our husky would have approved. This husky pup will not be outdone! A husky voice is a terrible thing to waste, especially when a cute baby is trying to steal the limelight, err, video camera time.

Halloween Silliness Recap with a Video

Did you have a safe and fun Halloween? Our Halloween was filled with sweets and treats from Grandbury and Winni.

Grandbury wore his “Personalized Angel Wings” tee. The dog t-shirts from Zazzle do have quite a bit of stretch in them, but we recommend you go one size larger than you think you’ll need. We ordered an XL for Grandbury, and at 49 pounds, he fits within the 46-70 lb. window suggested for the product. Like we said, the tee does stretch, and it is by no means too tight on him, but we found it a little difficult to get off of him when it came time to extract his front legs from the “arm holes.” This is in part because he is 16 and not quite as limber as he once was, but the holes don’t really have a stretch to them either. But, as for the main belly and back portion of the tee, they have a nice stretch and didn’t put any pressure on his tumor. The shirts are 100% cotton, so watch your washing methods! The t-shirts are really soft.

We think he looks handsome.

Calico cat Winni dressed for Halloween

Winni wore her own t-shirt – she went as a Pumpkin.

A very silly pumpkin as you can see from the video. No, she wasn’t blissed out on catnip, she was just ready to pounce and play the night away. She did have a hard time choosing which “Ugly Kitty Eco-Tosser” was worthy of her attention. Leave us a comment if you enjoy the video! 🙂

Grandbury felt so comfy in his new t-shirt he just dozed right off, waking every now and then to watch what new silliness Winni found herself in.

Are You Ready? Puppy Bowl VI

For the past five years our Super Bowl Sunday has revolved around puppies chasing toys, tails, and each other. We are highly addicted to the cuteness of the Puppy Bowl on the Animal Planet channel.

animalplanet

If you haven’t checked it out before, head over to their site and you can watch highlights from past Puppy Bowls or get the dish on some recipes for you and your pooches for your tailgate party.

When the rescued puppies take to the field and pile on each other with history-making plays for your hearts and the coveted toys, we guarantee that you’ll be smiling ear-to-ear. Don’t forget to bring your own pups in for a huddle and a well-deserved hug.

This year we hear there will be some bunny cheerleaders. Don’t forget the very special Kitty Half-time show!
